~In the Studio~
Updated June 1, 2010
This is my mess! Amazing to think something finished can emerge from it, but every now and then, it does!
I just realized as I am going through and adding all these pics that none of them have ears! What is a burro or a zebra without ears? Ears are vital when displaying an equine's emotions and mood and where their attention is directed. They really effect the overall feel of the sculpture, So it makes them seam a little flat not to have ears yet. However, ears are always the first thing to get broken off if I put them on too soon...so I just wait until near the end :)
Traditional Jumper
In progress photos, June 1, 2010. Release date not determined.
I dropped my camera at the tide pools a couple weeks ago, so forgive the lack of focus in some of these pics... it's a little haywire now. His chest is difficult to get to with front legs on, so I have to put those on last, That area has been a challenge in more ways that one. I don't even want to think about how the mold for this guy is going to work out!

Finally~ Some pics of Rhett! I have really struggled with the composition of this sculpture. I tried several poses and even started detailing them, but they just weren't "the one". I totally lost interest for a while and had to put him up . I was talking with a friend and showed her this really cool photo of a rearing Belgian that I just love and was suddenly inspired to work on him again, so over the past few days, he's morphed into this. He is rearing quite high and I may be making some changes to that, but I'm totally into him again :) Now I have to try and stay focused on finishing the jumper when I feel so inspired to work on Rhett! He's still very rough in these pics. As you can see, I spent most my time on his head :) Again, the lack of focus due to dropping my camera at the tide pools...on the rocks. Sand got all over in it too, so I'm shocked it still works at all!

Mini Burro ~ She's going to be a little Jenny with her long ears relaxed back. I got the coolest magazine on Donkeys with loads of photos that were so inspiring, I just had to sculpt one! They are so cute... I want one for a pet. Blkbird needs a friend :) Only 4 days work in these photos ( she used to be a mini Fabrizio!)
3.5" long from nose to butt
~
These two display cabinets make up my entire collection of traditional painted resins. I have another small display for my painted minis. A couple of the Majestuosos are Chinas and there are a few Breyers in there as well. The pieces I am working on for painting go in there for protection, too, so there are a couple of those mingled in. I don't have a large collection, but I am very attached to what I do have, as they all hold a special place for me.
My sis-in-law got me "The Rock" action figure as a joke and now he rides Pyt through my cabinet and keeps all the studs in line :)
A Zebra Mare....with no stripes or ears... So use your imagination.
I got really frustrated with her and after sculpting in circles, put her in the closet.
When she wants to play nice, she can come out again.
